Documenting Life Challenge - Week 10 - Halloween Costume

This year, I decided I wanted to make Drake's Halloween Costume!! Not sure why I decided on a pirate costume, but thought it would be cute!! :) I did cheat a little and buy his shirt that was personalized with his name. His pants were getting a little small, so I cut them a little shorter so you could see his skull socks, and converse! :) His vest, I made out of felt, then painted the skulls, buttons, etc. on. I bought some material for his belt. I think it turned out SO cute!! :) I wanted a costume that was unique and that no one else had!!

Documenting Life - Week 9 - Pumpkin Patch

Last Sunday, we took Drake to the Pumpkin Patch. Not only did mommy and daddy go, but Gigi, Poppa, and Nana joined us as well! We had SO much fun!!! We rode the tractor wagon, walked in the pumpkin patch field, walked (ran if you were Drake) through the hay maze, and Drake's favorite was the horse blow-ups. He LOVED jumping on them!! It was such a nice day, and great weather!!

I have to admit that this was a last minute photo shoot with Drake!! We have been SO busy lately, and even though this weekend was Fall Break, I had a workshop all weekend, so I promised Drake that we would go to the park AFTER I took some pictures! :) Finding a bunch of leaves was kind of hard, being that most of them are still on the trees, with all the HOT weather we've been having in October! But, Drake had fun anyways!

Documenting Life, Week 7: The Whole Family

Rarely do we all get a picture together, so any change I get, I LOVE getting a picture of the three of us!! This first picture was taken at our friend and cousin, Brooke and Drew's wedding this last weekend. The lighting was almost none in the reception, so had to use the flash (which I don't like to use), so it's not the best picture, but still thought it was blog worthy! :)

Collier. Drake won a "cutest kid" contest on Facebook hosted by Jenny Collier and Ashley Thompson. They are so, so nice and did a great job at taking pictures of not only Drake, but all three of us!!

Well, Saturday marked Drake's 21 month birthday!!! Also, our very, very good friend and cousin's wedding!!! We had such a fun weekend, and have had SO much fun this month with Drake!!!

Drake,

Happy 21 month birthday!!! I know I said this last month, but you are still talking SO much!!! :) You are saying so much right now!! Not only do you like to repeat everything we say, but you are starting to come up with phrases and short sentences on your own!!

You said you first full sentence this month: "I want ketchup!" It was plain as day, and you were so proud of yourself for saying it! :) You are starting to sing songs as well! You love to sing "happy birthday," "ABC's," and "Take it All."

We have had so much fun this month, but also a lot of changes as well. This month daddy and I decided to take you to a new babysitter. We still love Mrs. Sandra so, so much and love to take you to visit her!!! It's a long story that we will explain to you someday. But, Mrs. Sandra loved watching you and was such an amazing babysitter to you. She took such great care of you, and loved you as her own!! Your new babysitter, Mrs. Pammie is really nice, and you have done such a great job at adjusting to the new place. You have new friends now that are so much fun to play with.

You are also starting to put people together. If I say "Do you want to go see Poppa?" You will say "Gigi, CoCo." And, if I asked if you want to see "Aunt Tutu," you will ask for "Ry-Ry, Kate, and Uncle Jason." I love how smart you are and how much you are learning everyday!!!

You still love to pray and spend time cuddling with mommy and daddy before bedtime, which I adore!!! You have taken a new interest in your kid Bible that Gigi and Poppa got for you. You ask daddy to read the bble (a.k.a. bible) every night. It melts my heart every time I see you sitting on daddy's lap reading the Bible together!!

Well, you pretty much melt my heart every time I look at you!!! You are not only the most precious thing ever, but you are smart, amazingly cute, and such a blessing to our lives!!!

Always remember: You are smart, you are kind, you are important!!!!

Documenting Life: Week 6 - MESS

This weeks challenge was to show a mess!!! Well, that could be our entire house most of the time!! :) Since having a baby, having the house clean is NOT a top priority anymore!! :) This is a typical morning in our house, especially on the weekends. Instead of just getting out one toy, Drake likes to pull out as many toys as possible!!
